According to the forecast made by the Meteorological Department today, the nation is preparing for a severe heatwave due to the extremely hot and dry weather in most areas.

With temperatures reaching extreme levels in the southern and central regions, residents are being encouraged to take necessary precautions to cope with the severe heat. This morning, the following temperatures were recorded in major cities: 29°C in Lahore and Karachi, 27°C in Peshawar, 21°C in Quetta, 17°C in Gilgit, 14°C in Murree, and 20°C in Muzaffarabad.

These rising temperatures present a serious challenge, affecting daily life and potentially impacting vulnerable populations. Authorities are advising people to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during afternoon hours.
