NAUNDERO: The heirs of Shaukat Memon, a resident of Naundero, who was killed in an alleged police encounter on 31st January which was held within Rahmatpur police station limits of Larkana after arresting him alive from his Naundero residence, along with his policeman brother Ali Dino Memon and others, held a protest demonstration here on Tuesday which also included their aged mother Shahzadi Khatoon, brothers Lal Dino, Ameer Memon, Rashid Memon and others.
Shahzadi Memon, who participated in the protest, alleged while crying that nothing but lies were spoken in the press conference held by SSP Larkana on Monday in his office and the allegations made against my son policeman Ali Dino Memon are completely false, baseless and bogus.
She said that the police broke into their house like bandits and took away my five sons and the accused adding one of them, Shaukat Memon, was killed in a fake encounter. The police are trying unsuccessfully to prove their lies by showing a case against us by hiding the real influential criminals under the guise of a powerful political party which is cruel, she added. She questioned that if my sons were criminals and there were many years old cases filed against them, how was one son allowed to work in the police for such a long time and why Shaukat was not arrested earlier?
She said that my deceased son Shaukat was actually a fishmonger, not a criminal or a thief. He was not a criminal or a robber. She also appealed to Dr. Salim Shaikh that if he thinks that we are guilty of his theft, he should prove to us we are ready to pay the fine. She said that a petition has been filed in the high court and we hope that the high court will do justice to us.
They appealed to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chief Justice of Pakistan, Chief Justice of Sindh High Court, MPA Faryal Talpar, human rights organizations and higher authorities to conduct a thorough judicial inquiry into the blood of the innocent son Shaukat and cases lodged against innocent Ali Dino Memon should be withdrawn.
