Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Aminul Haque has vowed to protect Karachi University (KU) from illegal encroachments and declared that no one will be allowed to illegally occupy the university’s land.
During a conversation with representatives of the All Pakistan Muttahida Students Organization (APMSO) in Bahadurabad, Haque condemned the Sindh provincial administration’s ‘criminal silence’ on the issue of land encroachment and hinted at incompetence or collusion with illegal developers.
He emphasized that KU is one of the few government-funded universities serving a large population of Karachi and illegal occupation for financial gain is a grave injustice to the metropolis.
Haque said that addressing the challenges facing KU is a top priority for the MQM-P. He assured that his political party would act as a ‘protective wall’ between the institution and illegal land grabbers.
