Karachi Traffic Police announced today that due to ongoing construction work on the Malir Expressway project, the Murghi Khana Bridge will be closed for 12 hours on January 4, which will affect the complete flow of traffic for 12 hours.
According to the Karachi Traffic Police advisory, the Murghi Khana Bridge, located at the Quaidabad Interchange, will be closed to all types of traffic from both sides.
This closure will be in effect on January 4, 2026, from 7 am to 7 pm, to allow for the safe installation of large girders necessary for the new expressway.
Alternative arrangements have been made to manage this disruption. Traffic coming from Steel Mill will be diverted towards the ramps of Malir Expressway.
A temporary route has been created on the river near Anwar Baloch Hotel for vehicles traveling from the airport towards Steel Mill.
The public is urged to cooperate with the traffic personnel deployed in the area to avoid any major inconvenience.
