My son was murdered to stop me from supporting movement

Srinagar, January 05, 2018 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leader, Muhammad Maqbool Sofi, has said that his son, Arif Ahmed Sofi, was killed to force him to stop supporting the ongoing freedom movement. Muhammad Maqbool Sofi in a media interview said that he had been closely associated with a Hurriyat organization, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League.

“I have spent over seven years in jail for supporting the ongoing Kashmir freedom movement. My son has been murdered to suppress my sentiments and stop me from supporting the ongoing freedom struggle.” Arif Ahmed Sofi was martyred by unidentified gunmen in Herwan area of Sopore on Wednesday evening. Meanwhile, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have condemned the cold-blooded murder of the son of Hurriyat leader, Muhammad Maqbool Sofi.

Hurriyat leaders, Fazl Haq Qureshi, Farida Bahenji, Muhammad Musaddiq Aadil, Zafar Akbar Butt, Ghulam Nabi Waseem, Advocate Bashir Ahmad Tota and Ghulam Nabi Darzi and the Dukhtaran-e-Millat and High Court Bar Association in their statements in Srinagar condemned the murder of the youth and demanded impartial probe to bring the killers to book.
