Narowal Hosts Science Fair, Showcases Engineering Innovation and Growth


Narowal, The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Narowal Campus, under the aegis of Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, recently held a science fair to display various engineering projects created by students. This event not only highlighted local innovation but also emphasized the importance of engineering in solving key societal problems.



According to Press Information Department, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, who was instrumental in the establishment of UET Narowal Campus, attended the fair as a special guest. He inspected projects across several departments including electrical, mechanical, civil, biomedical engineering, and computer engineering. These projects showcased the practical applications of academic theories and underscored the potential of young engineers to contribute meaningfully to various sectors.



The science fair attracted participation from students of multiple universities such as Agriculture University Faisalabad, UMT Sialkot Campus, ITU University of Narowal, and Veterinary University Narowal Campus. The event served as a platform for budding engineers to exhibit their innovative solutions to real-world challenges.



In his address, Prof. Iqbal reflected on the transformative impact of engineering worldwide and reiterated his commitment to enhancing engineering education in Pakistan. He highlighted several initiatives aimed at equipping engineers with modern tools and techniques, including substantial investments in engineering universities to upgrade laboratories and foster a culture of innovation.



The Federal Minister also participated in a prize distribution ceremony and emphasized the need for continuous learning and adaptation to keep pace with technological advancements such as artificial intelligence. He lamented the current state of research in Muslim countries and urged the future generation to revive a culture of inquiry and innovation, drawing inspiration from historical contributions to science.



Prof. Iqbal’s vision for the university and its students is to lead an innovation movement in Pakistan, preparing them to meet the challenges of the next century, especially as the nation approaches its centenary of independence alongside India. He underscored the importance of hard work and intellectual engagement in achieving these goals.



The event concluded with Prof. Iqbal planting a sapling and handing over new buses to the university, symbolizing growth and mobility towards future endeavors. His parting message stressed teamwork and unity as essential ingredients for national success.
