The future of Pakistan’s film industry was under the spotlight as emerging student filmmakers and independent creators from across the nation converged with seasoned professionals at a major university film festival.
Hosted by the Faculty of Media and Mass Communication, the fifth edition of the UCP FMMC Film Festival served as a pivotal two-day platform for showcasing a diverse range of creative works, including short films, documentaries, and music videos.
Beyond the screenings, the festival fostered intellectual exchange through engaging panel discussions. Esteemed industry figures led conversations on topics such as Literature on Screen and From Idea to Visuals: Exploring Films as an Art, providing attendees with valuable insights into the craft of visual storytelling.
The event culminated in an awards ceremony where a jury recognised outstanding talent. Both winners and runners-up across all submission categories were presented with shields and monetary awards for their creative achievements.
In a concluding gesture of appreciation, Prof. Dr. Hammad Naveed and Prof. Dr. Fawad Baig formally presented shields to the honoured guests who contributed to the festival’s success.
