Nepal’s unseeded duo stuns Pakistan’s favorites to clinch ITF Tennis title

KARACHI:Unseeded Aarav Samrat Hada and Aki Zuben Rawat of Nepal annexed the boys doubles title of General Tyre ITF J5 Juniors Tennis after upsetting top seeded pair of Muhammad Shoaib and Ahmed Kamil of Pakistan in a thrilling three-set match at PTF SDA Tennis Complex in Islamabad.

Shoaib and Ahmed Kamil won the first set 6-3 by breaking 1st game of Aarav Samrat and Aki Zuben. Aarav and Aki won the second set 6-2 by breaking the third game of Ahmed Kamil.

The match was decided on super tie break, which was won by Aarav Samrat and Aki Zuben with a score of 10-8. It is the first ITF title for Nepali pair. The match lasted 1 hour and 13 minutes.

In the girls singles final, Arina Valitova of Russia won the title after beating Abhilasha Bista of Nepal in straight sets by 6-1, 6-2 score.

Boys singles final will be played today (Saturday) between Muhammad Shoaib of Pakistan and Roy Keegan of Britain.
