NIA summons 40 teachers in IIOJK killings probe

Srinagar, October 10, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian infamous National Investigation Agency (NIA) has summoned 40 teachers, today, in connection with civilian killings, the investigation of which the agency has formally taken over from the local police.

Top officials of the Intelligence Bureau (IB), including Tapan Deka, the head of counter terrorism wing in the agency, are camping in Srinagar under the directives of Indian Home Minister, Amit Shah. The police have already detained over 500 people in connection with the FIRs lodged in different police stations pertaining to the civilian killings in the Valley.

The NIA has taken over the investigation into the murders of principal, Supinder Kour and teacher Deepak Chand, who were killed inside the school premises in the Eidgah area of Srinagar city. The 40 teachers summoned by the NIA at its Church Lane office in Srinagar belong to various schools in Srinagar city.

Meanwhile, the NIA, today, raided multiple locations in the territory in two different cases already registered by the probing agency. Reports said that sleuths of NIA along with Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) raided the house of Nayeem Ahmad Butt, a resident of Aaripora Zewan, who is working as driver in Hassan Road Construction Company owned by Ghulam Hassan. The house of Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, a resident of Baghi Nand Singh Chattabal, who is running a poultry farm, was also searched by the Sleuths of NIA and seized almost five mobile phones besides other things, it said.

It said that sleuths of the probing agency raided the house of Suhail Ahmad Butt, a resident of Solina Payeen in Shergari Police jurisdiction and house of Tahir Ahmad Najar, a resident of Bahauddind Sahab in Nowhata was also searched by the sleuths of the NIA. Reports also said as many as 70 youth have been detained in Srinagar and a total of 570 people have been detained across Kashmir in the past 2-3 days.
