Additional Sessions Judge Okara on Tuesday sentenced an accused named Waqas Ali to nine years imprisonment after being proven guilty of drug smuggling. Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Ashraf also imposed a fine of one lakh rupees on the convict Waqas Ali. In case of non-payment of the fine, there will be an additional three months imprisonment.
Ali was arrested in 2023 by Gogira law enforcement agencies when hashish was recovered from his possession. District Police Officer Rashid Hidayat appreciated the performance of the prosecution team.
