Lahore, December 29, 2019 (PPI-OT): On the directions of Inspector General Police Punjab Shoaib Dastagir, Additional IG Punjab Highway Patrol Captain (R) Zafar Iqbal Awan (Sitara Imtiaz) visited 3 regions of southern Punjab to review the performance of field officials and for improvement in public service delivery and solution of personnel welfare issues. Addl IGP Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) has issued important directives while reviewing the steps taken to protect the lives of the people on the highways and against the criminal elements. Addl IG visited the PHP posts Basti Malok Multan, Ghazi Ghat DG Khan and Pul Daga Bahawalpur and after inspecting the performance of the deployed staff and addressed the officers and said that the implementation of the slogan of “Safe Highways” is our mission.
Up to 20 officials of PHP have embraced martyrdom while performing professional duties. The martyrs are our pride. He urged the officers and officials to make the PHP more public friendly and that zero tolerance policy against corruption should be adopted. While Distributing Christmas gifts to Christian employees, Addl IGP PHP said that the Punjab Police gives equal status and rights to employees belonging to the minority community and their welfare is our top priority.
Moreover, Addl IGP PHP distributed complimentary certificates and cash prizes to those who performed brilliantly. During the course of the visit, Additional IG PHP laid flowers on the memorial of martyrs and also offered prayers for the high ranks of martyrs. On the occasion of the regional visits, SP Multan Range Zahida Parveen, SP DG Khan Malik Tahir Mustafa and SP Bahawalpur Muhammad Sharif presented The Addl IGP Zafar Iqbal Awan with honourable shields and souvenirs. Additional IG PHP Captain (R) Zafar Iqbal Awan under the Clean and Green Pakistan campaign also planted trees at patrolling posts.
