The Criminal Model Trial Court of Khairpur today sentenced Wazir, son of Khadim Hussain Lohar, to life imprisonment for the murder of Muhammad Hayat Lohar 12 years ago.
After a long wait, Special Judge Liaquat Ali Khoso announced the verdict following a comprehensive review of witnesses and evidence. The court found Wazir guilty of committing the heinous crime in the Panjti area within the limits of A-Section Police Station.
In addition to the life sentence, the court also imposed a financial penalty of 1 million rupees. This amount will be paid as compensation to the victim’s family. If the convict fails to fulfill this financial obligation, he will face an additional six months of imprisonment.
This murder case, filed more than a decade ago, has gone through a lengthy series of legal proceedings and has now reached this conclusion. The court’s decision highlights the importance of justice, even if delayed, and provides relief to the victim’s family.
