Organized Snatcher Gang Dismantled; Weapons, Motorcycle Recovered

An Islamabad Police team today claimed to have dismantled an organized criminal gang, apprehending three members implicated in numerous snatching incidents and recovering weapons from their possession.

The suspects, identified as Arif, Israr, and Ishrat, were taken into custody by officers from the Khanna police station. Authorities also seized firearms with ammunition and a motorcycle allegedly utilized during their criminal operations. Cases have been registered against the accused.

During initial questioning, the apprehended individuals confessed to their involvement in multiple robberies within the jurisdiction of the Khanna police station and surrounding areas. A more comprehensive investigation into the gang”s activities is currently underway.

This operation is part of a broader, large-scale crackdown initiated by the Islamabad Police across the federal capital. The initiative, following special directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, targets individuals involved in dacoity, snatching, and other grave offenses.

Officials report that the city-wide effort has led to a significant decline in major criminal incidents. The IGP has instructed all officers to maintain stringent action against perpetrators who dispossess citizens of their valuable property.

The police chief also called upon the public for their cooperation, urging them to immediately report any suspicious individuals, activities, or objects to their nearest police station or by using the emergency helpline ‘Pucar-15.’
