Our children must know about good touch and bad touch: Shireen M. Mazari

Islamabad, October 03, 2019 (PPI-OT): The Minister for Human Rights visited Event on Child Abuse awareness at House of Light School, Pind Begwal Islamabad to talk on child abuse Dr. Shireen M. Mazari, spoke to the children that they must know that touches that keep you safe and are good are safe touches and touches that hurt your bodies or feelings such as hitting, pushing, pinching, and kicking are bad touches.

The Honourable Minister for Human Rights emphasized that teachers should play their role by teaching children to speak out when someone touches them in a way that makes them feel uncomfortable. She further stated that parents are required to learn parenting for children skills to understand children’s feeling and emotions.

While addressing the parents, teachers and children, Mr. Khuram Shahzad Nawaz, MNA, appreciated the endeavours of Ministry of Human Rights for awareness and sensitization on child abuse. He further applauded At House of Light School, Pind Begwal Islamabad for their support in organizing this event. He pointed out that child abuse is a universal phenomenon and most of the cases are unreported. Present Government is fully cognizant to address the issue of child abuse through available possible means.
