In a major security measure, the Punjab Police will deploy a force of over 30,000 officers and personnel to protect more than 2,900 churches across the province on the occasion of the upcoming Christmas and Quaid’s Day celebrations.
This comprehensive security strategy was announced on Sunday to ensure the safety of citizens on both occasions.
A key component of the plan is round-the-clock surveillance, under which holiday festivities will be continuously monitored through the extensive network of Safe Cities Authority cameras.
According to the Inspector General (IG) of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, the security arrangements will be under the direct supervision of the senior command. He confirmed that all Regional Police Officers (RPOs), City Police Officers (CPOs), and District Police Officers (DPOs) have been directed to personally oversee the implementation of security measures in their respective jurisdictions.
