Pakistan and Turkey Strengthen Naval Ties Through Joint Exercise TURGUTREIS-IX


Aksaz, Turkey, The Pakistan Navy and the Turkish Navy conducted the joint naval exercise “TURGUTREIS-IX” off the coast of Aksaz, Turkey, aimed at enhancing interoperability and joint operational capabilities between the two forces.



According to Inter Services Public Relations, the exercise involved several phases, including a harbor phase on PNS Babur where participants engaged in briefings, table-top discussions, and coordination meetings. The sea phase featured the Turkish Navy’s TCG HEYBELIADA, submarine TCG DOGANAY, and SH-70B helicopter operating alongside PNS Babur.



The exercise also included a visit by the Commander of the Turkish Navy’s Southern Task Group to PNS Babur, where discussions focused on mutual interests and furthering bilateral naval cooperation. The TURGUTREIS exercises are a regular occurrence, reflecting ongoing commitments to strengthening military ties between Pakistan and Turkey.
