The Pakistan Army has won the 3rd Inter Services Combat Shooting Championship 2025, achieving a decisive victory by winning all four of the competition”s Inter Services Matches, it was announced at the closing ceremony of the 45th Pakistan Army Rifle Association Central Meet.
According to a statement today, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, graced the concluding event as the Chief Guest. The championship featured over 2,000 participants who demonstrated their marksmanship skills with considerable enthusiasm.
Competitors were drawn from the Pakistan Army, Air Force, and Navy, in addition to Civil Armed Forces. Various regional and federal rifle associations, including those from Punjab, Sindh, KPK, and Balochistan, also took part in the competition.
In other contests, the Punjab Regiment secured the Unit Firing Proficiency Match Group-I title. Individual honors were awarded to Sepoy Muhammad Irfan of the Punjab Regiment, who was named The Master at Arms, and Naib Subedar Umar Farooq from the Army Marksmanship Unit, who won The Army Hundred Rifle Match Trophy.
While interacting with the marksmen, the Army Chief praised their outstanding shooting abilities. He underscored the importance of marksmanship, stating that proficiency with firearms must remain a fundamental objective of all military training.
Later, Field Marshal Munir also participated in the centenary celebrations of Military College Jhelum as the event”s Chief Guest.
During the visit, the COAS inaugurated a Centenary Monument and the new College Museum, initiatives aimed at celebrating a century of institutional excellence and preserving its distinguished heritage. He also paid homage to the nation”s martyrs by laying a floral wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada.
The Army Chief lauded the educational institution for its critical role in fostering leadership, discipline, and a strong sense of patriotism among its students. He specifically acknowledged the significant contributions made by the college”s alumni, known as Alamgirians, to both Pakistan and its Armed Forces.
