Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar says today’s important telephone call led by President Donald Trump with the leaders of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Qatar, Egypt, the UAE, and Jordan marks a significant step closer toward the shared objective of regional peace, stability, and an early diplomatic outcome.
In a post on his X handle today, the Deputy Prime Minister commended President Trump’s leadership and commitment to dialogue and diplomacy, alongside Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and the entire US team, whose sustained engagement helped achieve meaningful progress in the ongoing negotiations.
Ishaq Dar appreciated and expressed gratitude for the constructive engagement of the Iranian leadership, including President Masoud Pezeshkian, Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, in support of advancing these peace efforts.
He also extended sincere appreciation to UN Secretary General, brotherly regional partners and all other countries, with whom he remained closely engaged throughout this process since 28 February, including Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, Qatar and others, whose constructive engagement and support contributed meaningfully to this final outcome.
The Deputy Prime Minister particularly commended Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to peace, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who played a central role throughout this sensitive and consequential process and also represented Pakistan in today’s discussions.
Ishaq Dar also acknowledged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan for its steady diplomatic engagement and continued support throughout these efforts.
The Deputy Prime Minister said Pakistan remains firmly committed to supporting all sincere efforts aimed at lasting peace, mutual respect, and regional stability. The achievements of these negotiations offer grounds for optimism that a positive and durable outcome is within reach.
Ishaq Dar said dialogue and diplomacy must prevail over conflict and confrontation for the collective prosperity and security of our region and beyond.
