Pakistan has made a significant appeal for increased investment from the United Arab Emirates in its priority sectors, describing the financial collaboration as “vital” for the nation’s sustainable economic growth and development, during a high-level meeting in the capital on Friday.
The call for enhanced economic partnership was a central theme in discussions between Ms. Misbah Khar, Advisor to the Chairman Senate, and the UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, Salem Mohammad Al Zaabi, held at the UAE Embassy. Both dignitaries reaffirmed a mutual commitment to bolster the long-standing ties between the two countries, which are founded on shared values and decades of cooperation.
Ms. Khar, emphasizing the importance Pakistan places on its relationship with the UAE, expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum in bilateral relations. The talks centered on augmenting collaboration in key areas including trade, investment, and energy, with the Advisor highlighting the substantial potential for expanding economic engagement.
Parliamentary cooperation was also identified as a significant pillar of the Pakistan-UAE partnership. The officials agreed to foster more exchanges of parliamentary delegations and to reinforce institutional linkages between the legislative bodies of the two nations to improve mutual understanding and joint efforts.
The meeting also served as an occasion to review the successful hosting of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC) in Islamabad. Ms. Khar conveyed her appreciation for the UAE’s participation, noting the crucial role such forums play in advancing parliamentary diplomacy among friendly countries.
Concluding the engagement, both sides reiterated their resolve to maintain close coordination and to work collectively to broaden and deepen the relationship across all spheres for the benefit of both nations.
