Pakistan moving in right direction to meet its goals: Ijaz Shah

Islamabad, December 13, 2019 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for Interior Brig (R) Ijaz Ahmad Shah met with Ambassador of European Union H.E. Androulla Kaminara at Ministry of Interior, Islamabad. The matters of mutual cooperation, FATF and other matters pertaining to visas and security issues were brought under discussion during the meeting. The Ambassador showed her satisfaction over Pakistan’s progress in FATF related matters and said that she was pleased to see a positive change in the overall society. She said that they are going to hold a seminar addressing the areas falling under FATF.

The Federal Minister for Interior, Brig (R) Ijaz Ahmad Shah welcomed the initiative and said that it is going to have very positive impact. Pakistan is a land full of opportunities, therefore, we plan to launch projects on provincial and federal level” said the Ambassador. While discussing the overall situation, the Federal Minister for Interior Brig (R) Ijaz Ahmad Shah said that Pakistan is headed in the right direction to achieve its set goals and eradicate its issues. Regarding the areas of mutual cooperation with European Union, the Federal Minister ensured full possible support and cooperation to improve the ongoing matters.

Talking of economic terms, Ijaz Shah said that there has been an improvement and positive indicators have been observed. The Ambassador agreed and said there has been a positive change which is worth appreciation. On the topic of illegal immigrants, the Federal Minister for Interior Ijaz Ahmad Shah said that this is an international issue and many countries have fallen prey to this. This is not only pertaining to Pakistan, however, we are doing all what is in our capacity to overcome this issue in our country. The meeting concluded with the hope that EU and Pakistan will work together for betterment and positive progress.
