Pakistan’s women’s cricket team clinched an impressive 87-run victory over Thailand, confirming their place in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.

This win, achieved through a combination of strategic batting and effective bowling, ensured Pakistan’s unbeaten run in the qualifiers.

Captain Fatima Sana expressed her optimism for the final match, emphasizing the team’s unity and support as key factors in their success. “The main credit goes to our team – they supported me a lot and gave me the opportunity to captain this side,” she remarked, highlighting her team’s performance.

In their innings, Pakistan initially struggled with a slow start. However, Sidra Amin’s perseverance and Fatima Sana’s decisive lower-order batting led them to a total of 205/6. Fatima praised Amin’s crucial role, noting, “The main thing is that she stayed at the crease and kept the innings going.”

On the bowling front, Fatima Sana, Nashra Sandhu, and Rameen Shamim each took three wickets, ensuring a comprehensive victory. Pakistan has now won all four of their matches in the tournament.

Looking ahead, Pakistan will face Bangladesh on April 19 at the Lahore City Cricket Association Ground, where Bangladesh will aim to secure their own World Cup qualification.
