Pakistan to Bolster Passport Security with New Features Amid Forgery Concerns

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Friday announced that new security features will be introduced in Pakistani passports in a decisive move to prevent forgery.

The declaration was made during the minister’s official visit to the Beijing Public Security Passport Bureau. Upon his arrival at the facility, Director General Sun Yu formally welcomed the Interior Minister.

Mr Naqvi observed various sections of the Exit-Entry Administration Bureau, where he reviewed China”s sophisticated passport making and immigration system.

A detailed briefing was provided to the minister, covering China”s immigration policies and the complete stages of passport processing, from the initial application to the final printing.

The Interior Minister commended the Chinese entry-exit system for its usefulness, effectiveness, and speed, stating that Pakistan has also developed its own fast and foolproof passport and immigration apparatus.

He added that Pakistan”s modern entry-exit control system is being developed along the lines of the Beijing model.
