Pakistan Welcomes First Cohort of Bangladeshi Scholars Under New Knowledge Initiative

The inaugural group of 45 students from Bangladesh has landed in Karachi to commence higher studies at prominent Pakistani universities, marking the operational start of the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor programme.

According to HEC information today, the scholars, beneficiaries of the Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships, were greeted upon arrival at Jinnah International Airport by officials from Pakistan”s Higher Education Commission (HEC) and representatives from various academic institutions. Further groups of Bangladeshi students are expected to arrive in the country within the next week.

In a statement, the HEC extended its best wishes to the cohort for a rewarding and memorable stay, reaffirming its commitment to providing a high-quality, supportive academic environment and full facilitation for international students.

This student exchange is a central component of the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor, an initiative designed to fortify academic cooperation and enhance people-to-people contacts between the two nations.

The programme is considered a key step in strengthening educational links and directly supports Bangladesh”s national focus on youth empowerment through advanced education and skills training.
