Pakistan’s hockey icon Tanvir Dar’s death anniversary observed, tribute paid to 1971 World Cup’s unparalleled record

Pakistan’s sports community today observed the death anniversary of renowned hockey legend Tanvir Dar, who is remembered for the extraordinary feat of scoring three hat-tricks during the 1971 World Cup.

During his illustrious international career, Tanvir Dar represented Pakistan in 80 matches and scored a total of 48 goals for the national team, showcasing brilliant skill.

This esteemed player, who holds a unique place in the country’s sports history, passed away on 11 February 1998. He is laid to rest in Karachi.
