Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to promoting peace, tolerance and social harmony, aiming for a more inclusive and progressive nation.
In a statement on the International Day of Living Together in Peace, the Prime Minister stressed the critical need to build peaceful and united communities at the national and global levels.
Shehbaz Sharif invoked the ideals of the nation”s founding father, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, emphasising Pakistan”s adherence to principles of integrity and fair conduct in all affairs, whether national or international.
He reaffirmed the country”s resolve to contribute significantly to global peace and prosperity, highlighting Pakistan’s diverse linguistic, cultural, and civilisational traditions as pivotal strengths.
Among the initiatives spotlighted by the Prime Minister was Paigham-e-Pakistan, a strategic program aimed at fostering national cohesion and countering ideological extremism.
Additionally, the government has implemented various strategies to bolster social unity, including the National Action Plan on Human Rights, the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights, and the Human Rights Awareness Programme. These measures are part of a broader effort to ensure societal cohesion and prosperity.
