Eleven members of the same family, including three women and two children, were injured in a severe collision between a passenger van and a truck near Lanjar House on the Gachero Bypass on Sunday evening.
The incident occurred within the limits of the Moro police station when a speeding van crashed into a truck that had suddenly stopped on the road.
The impact was so severe that passengers sitting in the front of the van were trapped in the wrecked vehicle. Rescue workers had to cut the body of the vehicle to extricate the trapped individuals.
According to Moro police, the injured have been identified as Shah Muhammad, Muhammad Anis, Muhammad Farooq, Abdul Rauf, Muhammad Rafiq, Muhammad Taufiq, Mrs. Sajida, Mrs. Majida, Mrs. Nasira, Muhammad Hussain, and Zahid Iqbal.
The injured were shifted to Moro Hospital for medical aid. One seriously injured person was later transferred to a major hospital in Nawabshah for treatment.
Authorities confirmed that the victims belong to the Abbasi family and were traveling from Tando Adam to attend an event in the city of Warah, Larkana district.
The truck driver fled the scene with his vehicle after the accident. Police have started an investigation into the matter.
