The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said on Friday that it has filled the significant voids on its International Match Officials panels, naming Nasir Hussain as a new umpire and Kamran Chaudhry as a match referee, following the recent retirements of esteemed officials Aleem Dar and Muhammad Javed Malik.

The appointments were finalised after a rigorous selection procedure conducted by an independent committee, which was established by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi specifically to manage the succession on the international panels.

This selection body was tasked with undertaking a thorough and transparent assessment of candidates from the national elite panels of umpires and match referees. The evaluation was based on performance, experience, and overall credentials, ensuring a structured and equitable process that included formal interviews with all contenders.

Following detailed deliberations, the committee presented a unanimous recommendation to nominate Nasir Hussain to the international umpires” panel and Kamran Chaudhry to the international match referees” panel. These selections subsequently received the official approval of the PCB Chairman.

With the new additions, the PCB’s updated International Panel of Umpires now includes Muhammad Asif Yaqoob, Rashid Riaz Waqar, Faisal Khan Afreedi, and Nasir Hussain.

The International Panel of Match Referees will be composed of Ali Naqvi and Kamran Chaudhry.
