Lahore, May 27, 2019 (PPI-OT): Mr. Shah Faisal Afridi, President Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry has welcomed Chinese Vice President Mr. Wang Qishan’s visit to Pakistan and termed it as a great source of improving Pakistan’s economic and political status in the region. In a press statement issued here today, Afridi said China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic cooperative partners and iron friends, and firmly support each other on issues concerning each other’s foreign interests.
He said Pakistan has been a priority on China’s diplomacy and now both the countries have witnessed a sound momentum in their cooperation and frequent high level exchanges. He said both the countries are deepening the mutually beneficial cooperation and conducting close coordination in international and regional affairs.
Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan’s current visit to Pakistan will further deepen high-level exchanges, friendship and mutual trust between the two countries, he said adding that the visit will also advance the development of China Pakistan Economic Corridor besides bilateral cooperation across the board.
Afridi said that Chinese VP’s visit is, in fact, an outcome of the successful visit of Pakistan’s premier’s last visit to China. “Together, Pakistan and China are entering the next phase of CPEC, with greater emphasis on socioeconomic uplift, poverty alleviation, agriculture cooperation, and industrial development,” he added and hoped that the visit will add new impetus to deepening the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership and to building a closer community with a shared future between the two countries in a new era.
Afridi, on behalf of the local business community, assured of the best possible cooperation to avail of the business and investment opportunities being reaped through bilateral MOUs to be signed at the government level during visit of Chinese VP.
