Pasban Democratic Party General Secretary Iqbal Hashmi congratulated the nation on the peaceful conclusion of Muharram, which ended in an atmosphere of tolerance and mutual respect. He commended the public, religious scholars of all schools of thought, government institutions, and the police for maintaining peace and order. Hashmi emphasized the importance of maintaining this peaceful environment and brotherhood in the future.
He highlighted the eternal lesson of Imam Hussain’s martyrdom at Karbala: standing firm for the truth. He stressed that the Muslim world must learn the lesson of steadfastness for the triumph of truth and paid tribute to the Shia community for keeping the memory of the Ahl al-Bayt alive. Hashmi called for unity within the Muslim Ummah, emphasizing that reliance on faith, not numbers, empowers the followers of truth to stand against falsehood. He praised those who remember the Ahl al-Bayt.
Hashmi appealed to the nation to reject those who spread hatred and discord, endangering the country’s peace. He stated that national success and development depend on collective efforts and unity. He mentioned the teachings of Muharram: truth, patience, sacrifice, justice, and resistance against oppression, exemplified by Imam Hussain’s refusal to bow to falsehood and his sacrifice for truth. He described Karbala as a shining example of resistance against tyranny.
Hashmi urged people to follow the patience, courage, and faith of Imam Hussain and his companions, no matter how difficult the circumstances. He said Muharram delivers a message to the Muslim world to abandon sectarianism and promote unity, brotherhood, and love to overcome the enemies of Islam.
