Ambassador Khalil Hashmi and Dr. Li Ruohong, founder of the World Peace Foundation and an official UNESCO partner, jointly inaugurated a stunning collection of photographs celebrating Pakistan’s natural beauty and cultural heritage at the Peace Garden Museum.

According to a PID statement today, the collection, contributed by the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing, comprises photographs taken by Chinese tour operators who visited Pakistan during the Year of China-Pakistan Tourism Exchanges. It has been added to the Museum’s permanent display, offering a window into Pakistan’s rich tourism potential.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Hashmi said the photographs represent more than picturesque landscapes-they are a testament to the profound connections cultivated through travel, culture, and shared experiences. He noted that these images narrate stories of mutual respect and understanding, rooted in historical ties between the two countries, dating back to the Gandhara civilization.

‘This display serves as a powerful symbol of the enduring people-to-people bonds that underpin the Pakistan-China relationship,’ said the Ambassador. He also commended Dr. Li Ruohong’s efforts in promoting bilateral ties and thanked him for ensuring the permanent display of the photographs at the Peace Garden Museum.

Dr. Li, reflecting on his visits to Pakistan, lauded the deep-rooted friendship between the two nations. Calling it an ‘all-weather strategic cooperative partnership,’ he reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing collaboration in diverse sectors such as culture, trade, technology, and public welfare.

A similar initiative took place days earlier at the China International Cultural Communication Centre (CICCC), where Ambassador Hashmi presented another set of photographs to Long Yuxiang, Executive Chairman of CICCC. These images, also captured by Chinese tour operators, were added to the Centre’s permanent collection.

Chairman Long praised the Embassy’s efforts in strengthening cultural ties and promoting Pakistan’s tourism potential. He reiterated CICCC’s dedication to furthering the historic Pakistan-China friendship through cultural and tourism exchanges.

These initiatives underscore the vital role of cultural diplomacy in fostering mutual understanding and highlighting the shared legacy of friendship between the two nations.
