PM aide approves highly expensive projects of motorway, ring road

ISLAMABAD:Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance Shaukat Tarin has approved different expensive projects chairing the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) meeting on Wednesday.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the meeting approved the 306-kilometre long Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway project with a cost of Rs191 billion. ECNEC approved two projects for Rawalpindi including expressway and ring road. The Rawalpindi Nala Lai Expressway project will complete with a cost of Rs24.96 billion while Rs23.6 billion will spend on the Rawalpindi Ring Road project.

The council also approved South Punjab Poverty Elimination Program. A program worth Rs25.24 billion will be launched for 10 districts of the region. During the meeting, ECNEC pended the approval of the Thal Canal Phase 2 project and was directed to consider the technical aspects of it.
