PM Sharif Instructs Railways to Boost Trade with Central Asia


Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed Pakistan Railways to develop a strategy aimed at enhancing trade across the region, with a particular focus on Central Asian countries. This directive was made during a meeting held in Islamabad, highlighting the government’s commitment to leveraging the country’s rail infrastructure for economic growth.



According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of utilizing Pakistan Railways’ land for business ventures in collaboration with the private sector. This move is intended to attract passengers through competitive services and partnerships, enhancing the overall travel experience.



Furthermore, the Prime Minister underscored the necessity of replacing outdated railway systems with modern technology. The update aims to improve the efficiency and appeal of rail services in Pakistan.



The briefing also covered ongoing efforts for the revival and development of Pakistan Railways. Notably, work on the Thar Coal Communication Project is advancing swiftly, underscoring the government’s dedication to infrastructure development.
