Police Launch Major Offensive Against Narcotics in Capital’s Educational Institutions

Authorities in the capital have formed special teams to apprehend drug dealers operating within educational institutions as part of a sweeping new anti-narcotics initiative dubbed ‘Nasha Ab Nahi’ (No to Drugs Now).

The movement, initiated under the direction of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, is designed to eliminate the drug trade and protect young people from the dangers of substance abuse, according to a police report today.

As part of the city-wide campaign, law enforcement officials are conducting awareness programmes at various academic centres. These sessions focus on educating students about the severe health risks associated with narcotics and outlining preventive measures.

During a recent lecture at the Federal Urdu University, SP Rural Zone Zeeshan Ali stressed that drug dependency is profoundly detrimental to the health and future prospects of students. He urged the student body to actively contribute to creating a drug-free environment.

The initiative also calls for enhanced collaboration between parents and teachers to collectively safeguard youth from falling victim to illicit substances.

SP Zeeshan Ali underscored that public cooperation is crucial for the success of the campaign, appealing to citizens to immediately inform the authorities about any suspected drug-related activities in their vicinity.

He confirmed that the Islamabad Police and the Anti-Narcotics Force are working in tandem to combat drug trafficking, with a firm commitment to bringing individuals involved in the illegal narcotics and liquor businesses to justice.

Residents are advised to report any suspicious persons or activities to the relevant police station, the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline, or via the official “ICT Police” mobile application.
