A Punjab Police constable was killed and his partner was seriously injured after being hit by a tractor-trolley on Wednesday morning while performing their duties in the Lower Mall police station area.
The deceased officer has been identified as Constable Safdar. His fellow officer, Constable Mahmood, has been shifted to a hospital for immediate medical attention following the tragic incident.
Following the incident, Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, issued immediate directives to ensure the provision of the best possible medical treatment to the injured officer.
IG Anwar paid tribute to the martyred officer, praising his commitment to his role. He stated, “The martyr embraced martyrdom in the line of duty; we are proud of his sacrifice.”
The provincial police chief also assured the welfare of the deceased constable’s heirs, affirming, “The martyr’s family will be fully taken care of.”
