Possibility of rain and snowfall in some parts of the country, temperatures negative in Quetta, Murree, and Muzaffarabad

According to the forecast made by the Meteorological Department on Tuesday, most parts of the country are likely to experience intermittent rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms, while heavy snowfall is expected in the mountainous areas.

This weather system is expected to affect Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, and the northeastern areas of Punjab and Balochistan.

According to the official forecast, cold and dry weather is likely to continue in other parts of the country.

Significant cold was felt in the temperatures recorded in major urban centers this morning. The temperature in Islamabad and Peshawar was ten degrees Celsius. Lahore was at twelve degrees while Karachi was the warmest at fourteen degrees. In the colder areas, Quetta’s temperature was minus one degree Celsius, while Murree and Gilgit both recorded two degrees and Muzaffarabad recorded four degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, in illegally Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Meteorological Department has indicated the possibility of rain with partly cloudy skies. Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, Baramulla, and Srinagar may experience rain and snowfall.

This morning, the temperature in the region dropped well below freezing point. Leh was the coldest place at minus thirteen degrees Celsius. Srinagar and Baramulla both recorded minus five degrees, while Pulwama, Anantnag, and Shopian recorded minus four degrees. Jammu’s weather was slightly better, where the morning temperature was seven degrees Celsius.
