NAUNDERO: A poverty-hit man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in a guava tree in Naundero on Friday.
People saw his body hanging in a guava orchard tree and informed the police following which an ambulance was called by police but it did not arrive, hence, the body was shifted to Government Hospital in a rickshaw for an autopsy.
His son Farooq Kalhoro said that his father was unemployed for a long time and become a victim of severe depression. He said due to record inflation, it was very difficult for him to bear daily home expenses as he was selling chickpeas on a daily basis. He said due to poverty and joblessness his father ended his life. He said that poverty is the worst enemy of the poor. His body was handed over to the heirs after fulfillment of all legal requirements.
