PPP Chairman Seeks 100-Day Development Plan for GB

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday advised the newly formed Gilgit-Baltistan government to prepare a comprehensive 100-day development plan and prioritise resolving public issues through closer engagement with local communities.

The directives were issued during a meeting of the PPP Gilgit-Baltistan chapter at the Chief Minister House in Gilgit. The meeting was attended by Gilgit-Baltistan Governor Qamar Zaman Kaira, Chief Minister Amjad Hussain Advocate, senior party leaders and office-bearers.

Bilawal instructed the provincial administration to govern by remaining connected with the public rather than operating from offices, saying that addressing the concerns of residents should remain the government’s foremost priority.

He also ordered the preparation of a detailed 100-day roadmap for the region’s development and directed the government to submit a performance report after the completion of the implementation period.

During the meeting, party officials briefed the PPP chairman on preparations for the upcoming elections and presented proposals aimed at improving governance and administrative efficiency in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Bilawal further directed the government to ensure the effective implementation of legislation relating to property rights and called for the presentation of a resolution on sovereignty during the first session of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly.

He also instructed authorities to complete the groundwork for local government elections without delay and urged the party organisation to strengthen its engagement with the public to enhance grassroots outreach.
