PPP leader urges release of funds to QMC

QUETTA: Nisar Yadgar Sangzai, provincial leader, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Balochistan, Thursday demanded of the authorities to release funds to Quetta Metropolitan Corporation so that salaries of the permanent and casual employees of QMC could be paid.

In a statement issued, he said that regular employees of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation from grade-1 to grade-15 as well as casual employees of QMC and pensioners of QMC have been deprived of their monthly salaries and pensions for the last three months.

Sangzai said in order to commemorate the 75th Independence Day of the country, millions of rupees were released to the QMC for illuminating the premises of QMC and arranging musical night, adding that the said amount should have been used for payment of the monthly salaries of the employees of QMC instead of arranging musical night and illuminating the buildings of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation.

He called upon Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo and Chief Secretary Balochistan, Abdul Aziz Uqaili to direct the authorities of provincial Finance Department to release funds to Quetta Metropolitan Corporation so that salaries of the permanent and casual employees of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation could be paid besides making payments to the pensioners of QMC.
