PPP-SB candidates writes to ECP for deploying rangers and army personnel on polling day

NAUNDERO:Four PPP-SB candidates for the General Councillor seats of Naundero municipal committee Ward 1, 3, 5 and 7 have written a letter to the Returning Officer, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Municipal Committee, Naundero, to deploy rangers and army personnel to avoid any untoward incident on local bodies election day on 26th June, 2022. These candidates include Ghulam Hyder Narejo, Waryam Ali Channa, M. Saleem Ahmed Channa and Sartaj Ahmed Shaikh.

In their joint application they argued that the Naundero town is under strong influence and has been controlled by ruling PPP for 14 years which is why all Sindh Government departments are under their strong influence and we have not seen anyone following ECP code of conduct.

They said that many irregularities have been done without any rectification so far. Narrating further they quoted that MNAs and MPAs have been visiting polling stations without any restrictions. More than one female polling agent has been appointed by the opponents in violation of ECP rules, they added.

They said that we lodged complaints several times with ROs and ECP but so far no response hence it is requested that rangers and army personnel may be deployed on polling day to ensure smooth, free, fair, transparent and peaceful elections because one murder has already taken place in Naundero on 21.5.2022 due to the local bodies elections.
