Islamabad, October 06, 2021 (PPI-OT):President Dr Arif Alvi has inaugurated the STEM programme on Wednesday to impart training in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics to students. Addressing the inaugural ceremony in Islamabad on Wednesday, he emphasised the need to focus on the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. He said Mathematics provides foundations to logic. The President urged teachers and parents to encourage students in increasing their curiosity in subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
The President said it is need of the hour to have special focus on STEM education for development and progress. Under the programme, training will be provided in the field of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) to Matric and intermediate students. Students in STEM classes will be selected based on their ability and talent. The Ministry of Science and Technology is launching this pilot project in fifty government higher secondary schools, which would be implemented across Pakistan, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
