President, Prime Minister Pay Tributes on Death Anniversary of Poet of the East Allama Muhammad Iqbal

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today highlighted the profound guidance of the thought and philosophy of the Poet of the East Allama Muhammad Iqbal, which addresses contemporary social challenges including extremism, intolerance, and social unrest, on his death anniversary. On the occasion of the 88th death anniversary of the great Poet of the East, both leaders also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to equip the country’s youth with essential knowledge, critical skills, and a strong sense of patriotism.

In their separate tributes, both heads of state recognized Iqbal not merely as a prolific poet but as a formidable intellectual, moral, and spiritual force. He is credited with inspiring the Muslim Ummah towards self-discovery, independent thought, self-confidence, and unwavering determination.

The President clarified that Iqbal’s poetic works present a compelling vision for a progressive society, based on the principles of justice, human dignity, and the full realization of individual potential.

Prime Minister Sharif emphasized that Iqbal’s profound ideas provide crucial direction for addressing today’s issues. He further added that the administration reiterates its commitment to investing in the younger generation, providing them with the necessary tools for progress, and fostering a strong sense of national loyalty.
