Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has taken cognisance of a formal grievance lodged by Transparency International Pakistan (TIP) concerning alleged breaches of Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules by Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) during its tendering processes.
A press communiqué from the Prime Minister’s secretariat indicated today that Mr Sharif has issued directives to the relevant government departments, urging a thorough investigation into the allegations surrounding SNGPL’s adherence to procurement regulations.
Emphasising the gravity of the matter, the Prime Minister stated unequivocally that should the accusations be substantiated following the inquiry, stern measures would be initiated against all individuals found culpable.
