Progress on reforms to mainstream Madaris students reviewed

Islamabad, January 15, 2018 (PPI-OT):To review the progress of the reforms for mainstream of student of Madaris, an important meeting was convened by National Security Adviser Lt. General (R) Nasser Khan Janjua this morning. Besides Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf the meeting was attended by the prominent members of Ittehad e Tanzeemat-e-Madaris Pakistan Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman, Qari Muhammad Hanif Jalandhri, Muhammad Yasin Zafar, Maulana Abdul Malik, Maulana Niyaz Hussain Naqvi and the high officials from different departments of Education Ministry and Higher Education Commission Pakistan. NSA warmly welcomed the guests and expressed his pleasure for the active contribution of all the members. Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf appreciated efforts towards this noble cause of mainstreaming of Madaris student.

NSA sought the comments of participants on the different aspects of the roadmap suggested so far to enable the students of Madaris to get absorbed in the mainstream educational system of the country which will enable them to become an effective citizen of the country with an opportunity to join any profession of their choice like everyone else in the country.

He discussed matters regarding curriculum, strategy and procedures involved in the process of mainstreaming, proposed system of examination and further up gradation of Madaris in future. Points of agreement and disagreement were discussed in detail. All appreciated the progress made so far and reiterated to continue to work together for provision of better opportunities to students of Madaris.
