KAREZAT: Protesters on Wednesday blocked Quetta-Punjab and Quetta-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa highway for all kinds of traffic at the site of Karezat, demanding the authorities to get Assistant Commissioner, Karezat transferred.
According to reports, Quetta-Punjab and Quetta-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa main highway was blocked by the protesters, demanding the authorities to transfer Ali Ahmed Durrani, Assistant Commissioner, Karezat.
Talking to media, including PPI, representatives of protesters alleged that the incumbent Assistant Commissioner was receiving extortions from the people, adding that those people of the area were unnecessarily teased who refused to give extortion to Assistant Commissioner, Karezat.
On the other hand, authorities of Tehsil administration Karezat said that blockade of road was a tactic to blackmail the district administration over the illegal smuggling of chromite from Muchi Mountain.
