PSL 10 Shatters All Viewership Records with 3.4 Billion Views

The tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has remarkably garnered 3.4 billion live streaming views, a staggering 647.25 percent increase from the 455 million views recorded in the previous tournament. This remarkable figure was revealed by league organizers on Wednesday during stakeholder meetings held at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.

Headed by PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer, the discussions involved franchise owners, financial backers, media partners, and business associates, all gathered to analyze the competition’s exceptional expansion over the past ten years. A comprehensive comparison between the ninth and tenth editions highlighted PSL 10’s impressive accomplishments, which took place from April 11 to May 25 across four venues – Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi.

The final match, held at Gaddafi Stadium, saw Lahore Qalandars defeat Quetta Gladiators to claim their third championship in four years. The game also witnessed a record-breaking 202-run chase, the highest ever in a T20 final.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, terming PSL a “symbol of resilience, hope, and unity,” thanked all involved for their contributions to the league’s success. He reiterated the PCB’s commitment to further enhancing the tournament’s international presence and competitiveness.

Naseer attributed the remarkable digital engagement to the league’s growing popularity, with a combined 48.5 billion minutes watched on live streaming services in Pakistan. He also emphasized the diversified audience, with 53 percent from metropolitan areas and 47 percent from rural regions, demonstrating PSL’s nationwide appeal. A significant 33 percent of online viewers comprised women.

Other notable achievements of PSL 10 include an unprecedented number of sixes (520) and wickets (435), an “Emerging Category” player receiving the Player of the Tournament award, and the successful introduction of Urdu commentary. The league currently boasts 22 million followers across various social media channels. Expressing enthusiasm for the times ahead, Naseer promised “new narratives and captivating contests” for supporters in the coming years.
