Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh on Friday condemned what he described as “fascism” in the recent sentencing of Sahibzada Hamid Raza and warned that a proposed 27th Amendment would further break a constitution already damaged by the 26th Amendment.

Sheikh’s statements were delivered while leading a “Release Imran Khan Rally” from Guddu Barrage to Kashmore as part of a multi-day organizational tour of the province. The procession, which included stops in Kandhkot, drew large numbers of PTI leaders, workers, and supporters, who chanted slogans demanding the immediate release of the party”s founder, Imran Khan.

Addressing participants at various gatherings, including a workers” convention in Daharki and a large public meeting in Kandhkot, Sheikh asserted that Imran Khan was imprisoned for the “true freedom of this nation and the restoration of the Constitution.”

He referenced other incarcerated PTI figures, including Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Dr Yasmin Rashid, and Ejaz Chaudhry, stating they have endured imprisonment for over two years without yielding to “tyranny.”

Sheikh declared that individuals who had deserted the former prime minister were “disgraced,” while those who remained loyal earned “respect and honour.” He affirmed that Khan was jailed for the nation and would return, adding that no one could remove him from Pakistan”s political landscape.

The PTI provincial leader also heavily criticized the state of governance in Sindh, linking crime to the feudal system and calling for the establishment of the rule of law.

Focusing on agricultural issues, Sheikh claimed Sindh”s farming sector was collapsing due to “elite corruption.” He pointed to the rising cost of fertilizer, which he said had increased from Rs16,000 to Rs22,000, and noted that wheat seed purchased from farmers at Rs2,000 per maund was now being sold back to them for Rs4,000.

In his condemnation of the conviction of Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Sheikh called the ten-year sentence in a “fabricated case” an example of oppression, stating that the nation was proud of him for standing firm.

The organizational tour, now in its third day, also saw Sheikh meeting party workers at the residence of PTI Sukkur Division Vice President Mukhtiar Ahmed Dashti. He was accompanied throughout his visits by senior party officials, including Mian Muhammad Aslam, Sardar Mola Bakhsh Soomro, and Mir Iftikhar Ahmed Lund.
