Athletes representing the Punjab Police Department showcased an outstanding performance at the World Powerlifting Championship on Tuesday, securing four gold medals and one silver medal.
The successful performance in this global competition, which involved participants from numerous countries, earned honor for both the country and the police force.
Individual gold medals were won by Inspector Iram Khanum with two wins in the 84 kg category, and Head Constable Majeed Dogar won two gold medals in the Master Three category.
Constable Azeem Gujjar contributed to the team’s success by securing a silver medal in the senior category.
Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar praised the athletes for this achievement. He said this success reflects the broader trend of accomplishments by the Punjab Police sports teams at national and international levels.
Dr. Anwar added that the department will continue to patronize and encourage its athletes, and described the international medal winners as a source of pride for the entire police force.
