The Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) in Punjab has collaborated with a leading university to mobilize the younger generation in the ongoing battle against polio, emphasizing their critical role in spreading public health awareness in the digital age.
According to a statement today, the initiative was centered around an awareness seminar titled ‘Polio-Free Pakistan: Role of Youth in the Digital Age,’ organized jointly by the University of Central Punjab”s Faculty of Media and Mass Communication and the provincial EOC.
An EOC delegation, which included CMFP Ms. Uzma Kardar and Provincial Coordinator Mr. Adeel Tasawar, was formally welcomed by Dr. Fahad Anis, the Head of the Faculty of Media and Mass Communication.
A key segment of the event was a Volunteer Recognition Ceremony, held to honor students for their direct contributions and dedicated efforts in supporting polio eradication campaigns.
To further the objective of leveraging modern media, the delegation visited the campus television station, UCP TV. A short talk show focused on polio awareness was recorded during the visit to amplify the campaign”s message.
The collaborative session concluded with the presentation of a university souvenir to Ms. Uzma Kardar.
