Punjab University Confers Doctorates Upon 10 Scholars

Punjab University has formally conferred doctoral degrees upon 10 scholars, marking a significant contribution to the nation”s pool of advanced researchers across a wide spectrum of academic disciplines.

The announcement, made on Wednesday, confirmed the successful completion of rigorous research programmes by academics in fields ranging from social sciences and humanities to high-energy physics.

In the faculty of social sciences, doctorates in Sociology were awarded to Anum Awan, daughter of Malik Muhammad Taj, and Samina Akbar, daughter of Muhammad Akbar.

The domain of historical studies saw Hafiz Munawar Iqbal Nayyar, son of Muhammad Abdullah, and Noreen Fatima, daughter of Akbar Ali Mujahid, successfully complete their doctoral research. Sahera Khatoon, daughter of Syed Rakib Hussain Shah, earned her degree in South Asian Studies with a specialisation in Political Science.

Further academic achievements were noted in Geography, with a degree granted to Saba Akram, daughter of Haji Muhammad Akram, and in Clinical Psychology, awarded to Uzma Ilyas, daughter of Muhammad Ilyas.

The list of recipients also included Muhammad Javed Khan, son of Muhammad Khan, in Islamic Studies; Zafar Abbas, son of Mushtaq Ahmad, in High Energy Physics; and Najam Ul Hassan Jawa, son of Muhammad Taqi Jawa, in Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics).
