Qayumabad U-Turn Expansion Eases Severe Traffic Jams, Boosts Economic Hopes

The expansion of a critical U-turn in Qayumabad has brought significant relief to a long-standing traffic bottleneck, a move praised by the local business community for its potential to stimulate economic activity in the Korangi Industrial Area.

The Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) today lauded the initiative by Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab and the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to widen the turning point located in front of a private supermarket. The area had been notorious for heavy congestion, frequently causing gridlock for vehicles travelling towards the Shaheed Bhutto Expressway and other main routes.

In a statement, KATI President Muhammad Ikram Rajput and Acting Patron-in-Chief Zubair Chhaya confirmed that the project, undertaken following the association’s request, has already produced a visible reduction in traffic jams.

The business leaders extended their congratulations to Mayor Wahab and the relevant KMC officials, thanking them for their responsiveness to the concerns of both the commercial sector and the general public.

The KATI leadership emphasised that such timely infrastructure developments are crucial not only for easing transportation but also for fostering commercial and economic activity within the Korangi Industrial Area. They voiced optimism that ongoing cooperation with city authorities would lead to solutions for other civic challenges in the future.
